RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Trailer Drops!

On Thursday night, BBC Three dropped the trailer for the debut season of Drag Race UK on their official YouTube channel. The series starts in just over two weeks away and will feature ten of the brightest drag stars in the UK competing for the chance to become the Next Drag Superstar.

BBC Three (2019)

The trailer is definitely inspired by classic British sitcoms, featuring the queens arranging a living room for some kind of party and a gag relating to one of them stealing another’s bedazzled facekini. Ru then speaks on a mirror behind them and announces she is looking for the UK’s Next Drag Superstar. The wall then flips around to reveal a DJ set, before they start to lipsync to Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, with deathdrops and a comedy wig reveal. Fans have stated on forums and social media that this is amongst the best ever trailers for the franchise, after several years of dull promo videos.

There has also been a thirty second video release featuring clips from the episodes themselves, with extracts of interactions between queens in the Werkroom, RuPaul herself on the runway and a couple of…interesting acting and fashion choices in challenges themselves.
